Citation and commencement
- These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Coventry Arena) Regulations 2026 and they come into force on 4th June 2026.

- -(1) Subject to paragraph (2), during the periods beginning with 1500 hours and ending with 2259 hours on each of the 4th, 5th and 6th June 2026 no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 1,400 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 0.8 of a nautical mile centred at 522653N 0012944W.
This is the core regulatory measure, prohibiting unmanned aircraft from flying lower than 1,400 feet above sea level.
This restriction applies daily between 15:00 and 22:59 UTC on June 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2026.
The prohibited zone is defined geographically as a circle with a radius of 0.8 nautical miles around the coordinates 52°26'53" N, 001°29'44" W.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any unmanned aircraft flying in accordance with a permission issued by the West Midlands Police Drone Team.
This introduces an exception to the general prohibition.
The restriction does not affect any drone operating under a specific permission granted by the West Midlands Police Drone Team.

At the request of West Midlands Police, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport agree that the flying of unmanned aircraft should be restricted for reasons of public safety and security due to the intended gathering there of a large number of persons.
